Naval Point Club offers Learn to Sail for Junior and adult sailors The learn to sail programme is aimed at teaching new 8 – 25 years sailors the basics of enjoyable competitive sailing enabling them to move into the extension group or learn to race fleet. The Junior Learn to sail classes use the International Optimist class yacht which is an ideal boat for a child. These yachts are provided for learn to sail, after completing the course and the sailor would like to progress into racing they will need to buy a boat. Parent support is required. Learn to Sail is a national programme developed by Yachting New Zealand. The programme covers the basic skills which are taught by YNZ qualified coaches.
