Junior Sailing - Learn to Sail

Age: For kids aged 8-13yrs with no or very little sailing experience

Time:  Learn to Sail 1 Sunday mornings 9am - 12 noon

           Learn to Sail 2 Saturday mornings 9am - 12 noon

Dates:  Feb 16 - Apr 22 (8 weeks)

Cost:  $175 - Includes use of club Optimist sailing dinghies

Registration Date:  Form & payment due by Jan 30, 2018

Junior Sailing - Green & Open Opti Racing Fleets 

Age: For kids aged 9-13yrs with their own Opti & gear

Time: Saturday mornings 9am - 12 noon

Dates: Jan 14 - Apr 8 (12 weeks)

Cost: $100  (Club Junior Membership)

          Parent involvement is essential.

More information: The Club has an active coaching programme, especially in dinghy classes, for more advanced racing sailors wishing to develop racing and boat handling skills. Contact admin@navalpoint.co.nz for more information.

  • Rescue boat training - Free one day course to become certified to operate our rescue boats during coached sessions & regattas.

  • Windsurfing - Join our popular windsurfing coaching programme

  • Adult Keelboat sailing - Learn2Sail runs their courses from Naval Point Club

  • Offshore Sailor Safety Awareness Events - in conjunction with local safety specialists.

  • Coastguard Boating Education
    •  The Club supports the excellent safety and formal coastal and offshore courses offered by Coastguard Boating Education by recommending that members gain appropriate offshore qualifications and knowledge. 

  • Crewing on someone else's boat
    • A good way to learn more is to crew on someone else's boat. The Club runs a Crew List for people wanting experience on another boat.
