This membership is for a maximum of two years when you need to upgrade to full membership. Full membership enables you to vote, race in championship events, keys to the club rooms, a programme handbook and the annual yearbook.

 We are Mike and Abby, both from the UK and recently moved to Christchurch to live and work here. We are both outdoors people (pretty active and fit) with a passion for most activities based around the water, including sailing.
We have some sailing experience, RYA competent crew course, a passage aboard a 40ft catamaran from Florida to Bermuda and a few short day passages. I am a 28 yr/o active Florida girl recently moved to Christchurch. My sailing experience includes living aboard a 46' ketch sailing the Bahamas and a 44' catamaran in the Caribbean and South Pacific (Pacific crossing from Panama). I have also taught beginner dinghy sailing lessons on Sunfishes and participated in my Uni sailing club on J24's and 420's. Available anytime on weekends or on weekday evenings. I learnt to sail on cutters in the Moray Firth in Scotland. Have also sailed on West Coast of Scotland on large yacht for ten days and my own 12ft Cat in France and English Channel. I have crewed yachts in races a couple of times in Sydney. Once out of the SRYC and once out of another club and I have also sailed with friends in Lyttelton I did a course in the Bay of Islands two years ago I gained my crew ticket. Am awaiting to do skippers ticket.

The Squadron manages storage space for over 100 trailer yachts. A waiting list operates and anyone seeking space may contact the NPCL Office to arrange alternative storage until a CTYS place is available. A CTYS allocated storage site cannot be transfered to other parties.

The Trailer Yacht fleet is very active and members sail as far afield from Lyttelton to Akaroa, while many others tow their boats to lakes and other holiday locations around the country. Most popular being Marlborough Sounds and Tasman Bay.

The Squadron runs an annual Midwinter cruise which doesn't require boats. A report on this year's event can be found HERE
