What's been happening at Naval Point

last weekend our green fleet sailors participated in a Mitre 10 Fundraiser BBQ down in ferrymead. The kids had a great time serving up and selling sausages… and even more so we think the parents.  They sold nearly 500 sausages!  That brings the fundraising to $713.  This money helps the families to get coaches to regattas and with 3 major regattas in the new year, 2 of which are in Picton. including the Opti Nationals, a first for all our sailors!

The next time you can catch them at Mitre10 will be Sunday December 10th. and keep an eye out for out fundraising initiatives coming soon.

As we get into swing of the 23/24 season we have had a few queries from members enquiring how our handicap system is working this season. Towards the need of last season it was apparent that a few of the current handicap's were out dates and a full review was needed. A sub committee was formed, that group of individuals have taken on the less than easy task of reviewing.

Stage 1 which is where we are at currently, this has seen everyone's handicap set to a blended combination of class handicap and data from ‘race track’. Stage 2 which we will see in the very near future will see the integration of a performance based handicap.

We have also had a couple of requests for a double handed division to sit alongside out typical sailing days, if this is something you are interested in (or not). we ask that you please complete the quick 3 question poll attached.
