NAVAL POINT CLUB - eNewsletter

From the Board

As you may already be aware, Sail GP is set to return to Lyttelton in 2024, which is fantastic news!

Currently, we are in the initial stages of determining the impact on our club for this upcoming event. One significant aspect will involve temporarily relocating the haul out yard. All boats and haul-out assets will need to be moved to an alternative storage area. While the exact location, likely the BP yard, is not yet confirmed, we are actively working on the logistics of this.

Boats are expected to be moved from the 25th of February 2024, with cradles and related equipment following suit. Trailer yachts are scheduled to be returned to the haul-out yard starting from the 5th of April 2024.  *Please note that these dates are not confirmed and are approximate only.

Although not officially confirmed, there's a high likelihood that Sail GP boats will be launched in front of the clubhouse, approximately where the current crane is situated. This may lead to adjustments in how the area is managed and utilized during the Sail GP event. We are maintaining continuous communication with Sail GP and the Council and will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The Board and Management at Naval Point will unveil additional details about Sail GP-related events and our entertainment plans after the Christmas break.

In the meantime I wish you a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Holiday hours for the office

It was wonderful to end the season with such lovely events last week.  We wanted you to know when the office is closed.  Sabrina will be working remotely December 27th-29th.  If you need a keyfob or anything please arrange with her.

Email: Manager@navalpoint.co.nz

Amanda will be out of town 29th of December until January 13th, then again the 19th-22nd of January.  Sabrina will be out of town January 9th-January 25th.  Both are working remotely and plan on keeping up with emails, invoicing and such.

Reminder - going Cashless

We are going cashless in 2024.  This will be for both the Regatta's and at the bar.  This will cutback on admin work for the club.  Until then we would prefer EFTPOS payments.

Reporting incidents and near misses:

If you have a incident or near miss in the clubhouse, grounds, ramp, or on water please create a report.  This allows the club to learn and adapt.  Here is the link on our website: https://www.sporty.co.nz/navalpoint/about/health-safety
