The Fox II is looking for crew to help teach children how to sail. Starting in November, we will be teaching children from age 8 to 18 the basics of sailing. 2-3 trips per day. If you are interested in volunteering, hours can be used towards a commercial skippers ticket. You will also hone your sailing skills and learn how to sail a traditional gaff rigged ketch.

Our boat is well maintained so they would not be having to deal with too many gear issues which can be a frustration on some boats.

Hi, I'm Wendy Norton. I ve recently joined up with your club and am keen to sail regularly on Wednesday evening races.

My experience in sailing goes back to childhood.my family owned a 20 foot klinker built boat, the Wivenhoe. As an adolescent I was crew on a Fin boat. As an adult, a Moth, and a Phase Two were part of my family's sailing life.

I have never been part of a racing team on large boats but am very keen to give it a go and can commit to the weekly races apart from one week in January.

I love the sea and think it's an appealing idea to have time on the water and good company , mid week!

My experience in sailing is very limited. I have been crew on a friends' 6 mt trailer sailer about 6 or 7 times over the last three years and have limited ourselves sailing simply up and down the harbor....have gone past the heads only twice.

Completed the learn2sail course last year so am very much a rookie and don't come to the club with years of seafaring behind me. 

Am looking forward to hearing from you in due course but am keen to get out on the water at some stage.

I have sailed since a young child in the North Island of New Zealand out of Whangarei on my parents yacht (they had an 18ft keel boat) I have been involved in sailing in marinas in Whangarei and ventures sea scouts in Perth Western Australia , I went on the Leeuin 2003,in Esperance in Western Australia for 5 days and was a member with the leeuin for a number of years, crewed in the Cowes yacht race in the UK in 1997, crewed out of ocean reef yacht club on keel boats in 2007 and again in 2014/15. Completed a keel boat crew and helm course at Royal Perth yacht club in 2012 and crewed on a 32ft keel yacht in 2013 for one year and an Endeavor 26ft in 2012 & 2014I'm not keen on fore deck but very confident with the jib, I last sailed on a 32ft yacht out of ocean reef yacht club Perth on the 15/11/2015

I'm 28, moved to Christchurch within the last year and really keen on getting into some more sailing this summer.  My main interest is keelboats and trailer yachts but open to dinghys too.  I have minimal racing experience, dabbled a bit at uni, but plenty of crewing on yachts, many years with sail training organisations in the UK and I have my RYA coastal skipper.  I'm interested in both cruising and racing, love a challenge and would love to meet some more people in Christchurch and gain new skills.  I'll be more reliably available on Wednesday evenings but possibly weekends too.
