Crew Available

Wendy Norton

027 7275314

Hi, I'm Wendy Norton. I ve recently joined up with your club and am keen to sail regularly on Wednesday evening races.

My experience in sailing goes back to childhood.my family owned a 20 foot klinker built boat, the Wivenhoe. As an adolescent I was crew on a Fin boat. As an adult, a Moth, and a Phase Two were part of my family's sailing life.

I have never been part of a racing team on large boats but am very keen to give it a go and can commit to the weekly races apart from one week in January.

I love the sea and think it's an appealing idea to have time on the water and good company , mid week!

Craig Armstrong

I'm looking for a yacht to join the crew on for the Wednesday twilight racing series. I own my own yacht (Farr 740 Sport) which I purchased earlier this year but am looking to gain more experience before I race it myself. I crewed for both days of racing for the Aviemore Classic and really enjoyed the experience so want to continue to build on that.

Please contact Craig on 022 323 2762 or email me on armstrongplumbing@outlook.co.nz

Clare Buchanan

027-527-4430

Canadian girl who is keen to get out on any boat! Have crewed smaller boats on the odd occasion, but most of my experience is on Barquentines! I'm a quick learner though and am very comfortable out on the water. Missing sailing and being at sea quite badly, so hoping to get out on a boat as much as possible this season :)

Anna Hubbard

Phone: 0212076506

I am keen to crew on any boat.  At Naval Point I've sailed on the Elliot's and Good Point previously.  I am a club member and have my own gear.  I can do Wednesday evenings and weekends.

Richard Malin

My experience in sailing is very limited. I have been crew on a friends' 6 mt trailer sailer about 6 or 7 times over the last three years and have limited ourselves sailing simply up and down the harbor....have gone past the heads only twice.

Completed the learn2sail course last year so am very much a rookie and don't come to the club with years of seafaring behind me.

Am looking forward to hearing from you in due course but am keen to get out on the water at some stage.

I have a reasonable amount of sailing experience on dingies and smaller keelboats and am crewing on a casual basis at the clubs. I can manage most tasks but am not an expert and I also  have to fit it around my work.  Am really keen to do some shorter coastal trips - Akaroa or Picton etc to gain further experience. So - if you are doing such a trip and need and an extra hand I would be keen.

I'm 28, moved to Christchurch within the last year and really keen on getting into some more sailing this summer.  My main interest is keelboats and trailer yachts but open to dinghys too.  I have minimal racing experience, dabbled a bit at uni, but plenty of crewing on yachts, many years with sail training organisations in the UK and I have my RYA coastal skipper.  I'm interested in both cruising and racing, love a challenge and would love to meet some more people in Christchurch and gain new skills.  I'll be more reliably available on Wednesday evenings but possibly weekends too.

Originally from the UK and have recently moved to Christchurch, really keen on getting involved with some sailing again. Have spent the last couple of years moving around a bit before settling here so haven't been out on the water much recently. I grew up sailing lasers and Hobie Cats and was on the sailing team at university, but am new to sailing bigger boats. I am keen to help out for both racing and cruising, hoping to build my experience and one day get my own boat!

We are 29/30 years old, respectively. We are interested in learning to sail, on keelers preferably. Neither of us have a lot of experience except for a bit of mucking around in dinghys. However, we are very motivated and keen to help out wherever required. We both have a background in electrical engineering. We would be keen to crew on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays.
