Before you enter

SSNZ approvals and entries are both due 1 April 2027, and no late entries are accepted. Start your school approvals now, as they can take longer than you expect.

  • Principal approval: every team needs sign off from the Principal before it can be entered.
  • School Sport NZ: complete the SSNZ Championship Team Roster and eligibility forms, and have any eligibility conditions approved by SSNZ by 1 April 2027. Send the SSNZ approval form and any dispensations to both nztsafinance@gmail.com and manager@navalpoint.co.nz.
  • Composite teams: the National Championship is for single school teams only, so composite teams enter the National Development Cup. You will need approval from the Principal of each school involved and from SSNZ, so apply early.
  • Team eligibility: six sailors plus up to two reserves and a manager or coach. Every sailor must be under 19 on 1 January 2027, a member of a yacht club affiliated with Yachting New Zealand, and have sailed at a 2027 regional event (unless NZTSA gives dispensation).
  • Capsize ability: your manager or coach confirms every crew can right a capsized 420 and keep sailing.
  • Support person: send their details to manager@navalpoint.co.nz at least two weeks before the regatta so we can allocate roles.
  • One team or two: with the new Championship and Development Cup regattas, schools with enough sailors can send a second team to give more students racing experience.
  • Accommodation: book as soon as you know your numbers.

Entering and paying

Enter through the online entry link, then pay the $2,500 entry fee and $500 damage deposit by direct credit to NZ Team Sailing Association, account 12 3091 0150496 01, with your team name as the reference. If your school needs an invoice first, email nztsafinance@gmail.com as early as possible. Any team with fees owing cannot race.

Full entry:https://www.navalpoint.co.nz/viewform/517892. Conditions are in the Notice of Race.
